What this scam detector checks for

Paste any suspicious message and Veritiliz reads it the way a fraud investigator would. It works on WhatsApp and Telegram chats, SMS, emails, screenshots, PDFs and chat exports — and it tells you why something looks wrong, quoting the exact lines that gave it away rather than returning a bare score.

And anything that fits none of these. Veritiliz classifies by what a message does — the pressure it applies, the payment rail it steers you toward, the verification it avoids — not by matching it against a list of known scams. A message combining several tactics is reported as such, and one using a pattern nobody has named yet is still read on its own terms. The categories above are how results are labelled, not the limit of what gets examined.

Help Map the Patterns

Veritiliz is built on the real experiences of victims. If you feel comfortable sharing what happened, it helps identify new scripts, platforms, and tactics — so we can better protect others. Completely optional. Fully anonymous if you choose.

Built by a victim.

Veritiliz was created by a survivor of romance fraud. Not by a research institution. Not by a government agency. Not by a funded nonprofit. By one person who went through it and built the resource that did not exist when they needed it.

Every word on this site was written from lived experience. Nothing here was written by committee or produced with institutional funding. There are no advertisers. No investors. No organisational agenda.

This is what it looks like when someone decides that what happened to them should not happen to anyone else.

What we are not.

Veritiliz is not connected to any police force, law enforcement agency, intelligence service, or government body — anywhere in the world. We cannot investigate your case, contact perpetrators on your behalf, freeze accounts, or recover funds.

We do not share your information with any authority. What you put into the analyzer is not stored unless you explicitly opt in, using the consent checkbox that appears after your result. What you share in the story form below is stored securely, and never sold or shared. Our privacy policy sets out in full what happens to everything you send us.

If you are in immediate danger, do not use this site. Contact your local emergency services directly.

Common questions

Is Veritiliz free to use?

Yes. The free plan gives you 2 scam checks a day, 10 a month, with no card required, and you can upload screenshots and documents on it. Paid plans lift the monthly total, remove the daily cap entirely, and add audio and video.

Do you store my conversations?

Not unless you ask us to. Nothing is saved to your history unless you tick the box before analysing. You can delete anything you have saved, and export or delete your whole account at any time.

Can it analyse a screenshot or a WhatsApp chat export?

Yes — screenshots, chat exports, PDFs and Word documents work on every plan, including free. Audio and video analysis is available on Pro and Max.

What kinds of scams can it detect?

Romance scams, investment and crypto fraud, fake job and task scams, phishing, tech-support and recovery scams, lottery and prize fraud, advance-fee fraud, identity theft, gift-card demands, impersonation such as the “Hi Mum” message, and voice-cloning scams. It reads the content of a message rather than checking a blocklist, so it also works on scams nobody has reported yet, and on messages that combine several tactics at once.

How accurate is it?

It is decision support, not a verdict. The risk score is an assessment based on the language and tactics in what you submit, and it shows you the specific lines that concerned it so you can judge for yourself. A low score is not a guarantee something is safe, and you should never treat it as permission to send money.

Do I need an account?

You need one to analyse, and signing up takes one step — we email you a six-digit code. There is no password to create or remember.

Can I ask follow-up questions about a result?

Yes, on every plan. Follow-ups keep the full context of the original analysis, so you do not have to explain the situation again, and the risk reading updates as you add detail. Each follow-up uses one check from your allowance.

What should I do if it says high risk?

Stop contact, do not send money or share any more details, and contact your bank if you have already paid. Report it to your local cybercrime authority — we show the right contacts for your country with every result. Being deceived is not a failure of intelligence; these scripts are designed by people who do this full time.
