What this scam detector checks for
Paste any suspicious message and Veritiliz reads it the way a fraud investigator would. It works on WhatsApp and Telegram chats, SMS, emails, screenshots, PDFs and chat exports — and it tells you why something looks wrong, quoting the exact lines that gave it away rather than returning a bare score.
- Romance scams — manufactured intimacy, isolation from family, and the eventual request for money.
- Investment and crypto fraud — fake trading platforms, guaranteed returns, and pig-butchering scripts.
- Phishing — fake bank, courier and refund messages designed to harvest passwords and one-time codes.
- Fake job and task scams — recruiters who never interview you, then ask for a deposit or unpaid “training”.
- Impersonation — the “Hi Mum, this is my new number” message, and AI voice-cloning calls.
- Tech-support and recovery scams — including the people who target you a second time after you have already lost money.
- Lottery and prize fraud — winnings you never entered for, released only once you pay a fee or tax.
- Advance-fee fraud — inheritances, compensation payouts and parcels held at customs, each needing one more payment.
- Identity theft — attempts to collect enough personal detail to open accounts or pass security questions in your name.
- Gift-card and voucher demands — any request to pay in codes read out over a call or chat, whatever the story attached.
And anything that fits none of these. Veritiliz classifies by what a message does — the pressure it applies, the payment rail it steers you toward, the verification it avoids — not by matching it against a list of known scams. A message combining several tactics is reported as such, and one using a pattern nobody has named yet is still read on its own terms. The categories above are how results are labelled, not the limit of what gets examined.
